Hearing loss due to middle ear effusion/Eustachian tube blockage:
- 7-year old youngster with history of recurrent upper respiratory tract infections with otitis media treated with antibiotics, Nasonex and other medicines multiple times.
- Chief complaints of pain and fullness in the ear; keeping TV volume unusually high.

- April 2010: ENT evaluation revealed -
- Moderate conductive hearing loss 250-8000 Hz in the left ear; normal hearing in right ear.
- No ear drum movement by tympanometry, bilaterally.
- Advised to have ear tube placement and adenoidectomy but the family chose to seek alternative treatment first.
- May, 2010: Started on homeopathic treatment.
- Took remedies for about 2 months.
- Took remedies for about 2 months.
- July, 2010: Went back to same ENT doc for reevaluation.
- Left ear hearing much improved from moderately-severe loss in April to only mild deficit now.
- Middle ear effusion from both ears totally gone.
- Both tympanic membranes were mobile as opposed to flat during last tympanogram.
- Ear tube placement and adenoid removal were no longer felt necessary.
